Incident

On October 14, 2006 Provincial Cst. Dave Mounsey of the Huron County Detachment responded to an emergency in Huron County when he was involved in a single motor vehicle collision. He was transported to London Health Sciences Centre by air ambulance with life threatening injuries. On November 13, 2006 he succumbed to his injuries at the Clinton Public Hospital. Cst. Mounsey was a dedicated officer who was well liked and respected by his peers and members of the community. He began his career with the Royal Air Force in Britain, before joining the OPP and being posted to the Haldimand-Norfolk OPP Detachment. He then later accepted his present posting at the Huron County Detachment. He showed his pride of the OPP as a committed member of the West Region Ceremonial Unit. Next of kin: Life Partner Brenda Carey, Stepsons Wyatt (age 11) and Dalton (age 10) Carey, Parents Shirley and Colin Stanway, son Ryan Mounsey (age 25).
