Incident
On February 1, 2015, Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement (CVSE) Officer Toni Kristinsson was killed as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Valemount, British Columbia. Late Sunday night on February 1, Officer Toni Kristinsson was driving his CVSE pickup truck on Highway Five, about 10 km north of Valemount, when he was involved in a collision with a commercial transport truck. Officer Kristinsson died at the scene. The driver of the transport truck was treated at the scene and released. Toni was a dedicated peace officer, a gracious and compassionate man and his love of life and family was clearly evident. Toni leaves behind his wife Patricia in Valemount and his son Nathan, age 20 from Prince George. As we start 2026, we can look back and note that we have been very fortunate to not have lost anyone in Canada to a Line of Duty Death (LODD) these last two years.
