Retired K9 Ora passed away on March 6, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Ora retired from active duty in February 2025 after eight years of service with the Beckley Police Department. In that time, police say she helped seize more than $1.5 million worth of illegal narcotics and hundreds of illegally possessed firearms. Her longtime handler was Sgt. Capehart.

In retirement, Ora enjoyed sunbathing, treats and playing with her favorite toys.
