K9 Cato died after suffering a neck injury while training at the Nauvoo Grade School at 1450 Knight Street in Nauvoo.
K9 Cato ran into a glass door and sustained a neck injury. She was transported to a veterinary hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, where she succumbed to her injury.
K9 Cato had served with the Hancock County Sheriff's Office for six years. She completed more than 200 deployments.
