Incident
Police Officer William Stender was killed when the patrol car he was a passenger in was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 3rd Street at about 10:15 pm. Officer Stender had served with the Miller Police Department for only two months.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, three brothers, and a sister.
