Incident

Patrolman Williams Sellers was killed in a motorcycle crash when the front wheel of his police motorcycle fell off. Around 1:30 p.m., Patrolman Sellers was driving on the Northern State Parkway east of Glen Cove Road when the wheel of his motorcycle began to move. As he tried to straighten it, the wheel fell off, and he flipped over the cycle, landing on the road. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries ten hours later. Patrolman Sellers was a United States Army Air Force World War II veteran and had served with the Nassau County Police Department for six years.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife, daughter, parents, and sister.
