Police Officer William Kaemmerling succumbed to injuries sustained eight days earlier when his motorcycle struck a mail carrier's car while he was patrolling Grand Avenue (modern day Wisconsin Avenue), between 13th Street and 14th Street.
Officer Kaemmerling had served with the Milwaukee Police Department for five years.
