Constable Richard Duncan was shot and killed as he and several officers surrounded the home a man near McBean to arrest him for stealing a hog. The subject shot him and fled the scene. The suspect was identified but was never apprehended.
Constable Duncan had served with the Richmond County Constable's Office for three years.
