Incident
Patrolman Jones was shot and killed by a man he caught in a cemetery with several bags of stolen peanuts.. The suspect, 28, was apprehended in Cape Charles two weeks later. He was sentenced to death but the sentence was commuted to life by the governor on February 22, 1934.
