Incident
A joint police and military patrol was travelling to the fair at Mountcharles, Co Donegal when about 1.30pm it was ambushed. Coming under fire the patrol returned fire however during the exchange Constable Satchwell was killed.
He was from Castlerea, Co Roscommon.
