Incident
Pilot Thomas Moher and Officer Merlin Kaeo were killed when the helicopter they were flying struck utility wires in above Halawa Stream near Halawa Quarry. Pilot Moher had served with the Honolulu Police Department for six months.

He was survived by his wife and two children.
