Incident
Corporal Thomas Frazier was killed in an automobile crash on US Highway 285 near milepost 77, north of Artesia, at about 10:45 am.
He was involved in an active investigation when his vehicle collided with the back of a tractor-trailer that was turning off of the roadway.
Corporal Frazier had served with the Artesia Police Department for five years and was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. He had previously served with the Shenandoah County, Virginia, Sheriff's Office for 12 years. He also served as the chief of the Sun Country Volunteer Fire Department in New Mexico.
Survivors
He is survived by his wife and three children.
