Inspector Dodd died one week after sustaining fatal injuries as he and two other officers were investigating a reported terrorist car bomb and evacuating the area outside Harrods store in Knightsbridge, when the device exploded, killing WPC Jane Phillipa Arbuthnot and PS Noel Joseph Lane instantly.
Three members of the public were also killed.
