Incident

Shot in the chest from point-blank range when she and a colleague responded to a personal attack alarm at a travel agency in Morley Street, Bradford. As they arrived the officers were confronted by three armed robbers leaving the premises, one of whom shot both officers, killing PC Beshenivsky and wounding her colleague.

Sharon had been appointed as a Constable in the West Yorkshire Police on 7th February 2005, following nearly two years service as a Community Support Officer and joined a patrol team on the Bradford South Division in May.

She is survived by her husband, two sons and her daughter who was four years old that day, her stepdaughter and stepson.
