Officer Scott Smith died of injuries he sustained when his motorcycle was struck by a motor vehicle as he responded to a burglary in progress call. Officer Smith lived on life support for six months after the incident. He was assigned to the Traffic Division. Officer Smith had served with the agency for 3 years.
Survivors
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, parents, and brother.
