Incident
Detective Sam Morgan was shot and killed in a shootout on West 12th Street while he and other officers attempted to arrest a subject. The man was able to gain control of another officer's handgun and shot Detective Morgan. The subject was then killed in a hand-to-hand struggle with Detective Morgan. Detective Morgan had served with the Little Rock Police Department for 15 years.
