Incident

Investigator Russell Stapp was killed in an automobile accident in Imperial County, California, while on temporary assignment from his regular office in New York.

His vehicle overturned on a dirt road one mile east of Drop Five on the All American Canal, near Calexico. He was pinned inside of the vehicle and was found dead when rescuers arrived at the scene.

Investigator Stapp was survived by his wife and stepson.
