Incident

Patrolman Roy Buckner succumbed to injuries sustained one month earlier when he was involved in an accident while escorting a city fire truck. The driver of the fire truck swerved left to avoid an open manhole cover. Patrolman Buckner also swerved left to avoid being struck by the truck, hit a raised manhole cover, and was thrown off his motorcycle into an illegally-parked truck. He was transported to Mt Sinai Hospital and remained there until he died. Patrolman Buckner had served with the Cleveland Division of Police for 10 years.

Survivors

He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, and his mother.
