Incident

Police Officer Robert Nelson succumbed to injuries received in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Broadway and Chase Street. Officer Nelson was traveling northbound on Broadway when he was struck by a vehicle that did not yield while turning. He never regained consciousness and died five days later at St. Joseph's Hospital. A month earlier, Officer Nelson was shot at while attempting to apprehend a robbery suspect. Officer Nelson was a United States Army veteran and had served with the Baltimore City Police Department for 18 months.

Survivors

He was survived by his expectant wife.
