Incident

Agent Ricardo Atiles-Quinones was shot and killed in Toa Baja while driving an undercover vehicle at approximately 12:15 am. The suspects set the vehicle on fire after murdering Agent Atiles-Quinones. It was believed that his murder was in retaliation for a police raid that had occurred several months prior. Agent Atiles-Quinones had served with the Puerto Rico Police Department for nine months and was assigned to the Metropolitan Drugs Division.

He was survived by his wife and three children.
