Incident

Officer Pearl Martin succumbed to injuries he received in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Monroe Drive and Park Drive, NE, in Atlanta. Officer Martin was traveling south on Monroe Drive when a northbound car turned left and struck his motorcycle. The driver was charged with failing to grant the right of way. He was transported to Gray Hospital, where he succumbed to head injuries 16 days later. Officer Martin was a United States Army WWII veteran and served with the Atlanta Police Department for at least 11 years.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife, daughter, two sons, and parents.
