Deputy Sheriff Paul Schwiger was struck and killed by a vehicle while he and the county sheriff walked along US 127 while investigating a stolen vehicle report.

He was transported to Erlanger Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries two days later. No charges were filed in the event.
