Incident
Sergeant Paul Frear was critically injured when he was struck and knocked down by a car while walking to duty in Tollhouse Way, near Smethwick Rolfe Street Station. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day.
Paul served for twenty-one years, having joined West Midlands Police in August 2002, spending the last five years on Low Hill, Bushbury and Fallings Park neighbourhood teams.
