Incident
Patrolman Evans suffered a fatal heart attack while participating in a required training course at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy. He was conducting stage six of the physical stress test, which involved shooting at targets while negotiating an obstacle course, when he collapsed.
Patrolman Evans had served with the agency for 6 years.
