Incident

Norman was on sick leave, at his home at Murob Park, Ballymena.

He was watching TV with his wife, when just after midnight, two masked men with a machine gun and pistol broke down the back door with a sledgehammer.

They rushed into house and fatally shot Norman 10 times in front of his wife, whilst his 11 and 14 year old children were upstairs.

The family had previously resided in Limavady, where they had suffered intimidation.

He was stationed at Ballymena Police Station, Co Antrim where he was in the Traffic Branch.
