Incident

Chief Constable Norman Carr was struck and killed by a van as he was directing traffic at a two-vehicle accident on State Route 23. He was transported to a local hospital where he died of massive internal injuries. Chief Constable Carr was a United States Army Vietnam War veteran and had served with the Oneonta Town Constable's Office for 30 years.

Survivors

He is survived by his wife, daughter, two grandchildren, his parents, and sister.
