Died in hospital from the injuries she sustained earlier in the day when, after being called to reports of a burglary in Mottram, which transpired to be a hoax, she and her colleague, PC Fiona Bone, who died at the scene, were, without warning, attacked by a man using a grenade and discharging a firearm at both officers.
