Biography
Nicholas Evan Dickerson was born in El Paso, Texas on June 16, 1993, where he spent his early childhood before moving to Howell, Michigan. He graduated from Howell High School in 2011 Nick learned from a very early age about service and sacrifice. Coming from a family with military and law enforcement background, Nick respected and admired that so much. His Uncle David encouraged him to come to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and apply to work in the Jail. In 2016 Nick joined his uncle as a corrections officer. Nick knew that his path in life was to serve his country and community. There is no greater calling and very few actually answer. Nick understood the sacrifice. Everyone knew right away he had great potential. From the stories he shared, he felt at home right away working at Williamson County. Prior to his work at Williamson County he was a corrections officer for the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office in New Mexico for a short time. Nick was incredibly close with his entire family and his childhood friends. Nick would brighten the darkest of days. He was always that son, grandson, brother and friend that you could count on, always willing to help whether you were a friend or a stranger and never expected anything in return. Nick was genuine, humble and a good kid. We were all incredibly proud of Nick. Nick’s friend’s that reach out to our family to check in share stories about him always talk about what an incredibly kind, caring and compassionate person he was. I realize how selfless he was toward them as well. Nicholas brought us all together today and our family has made a new set of friends/family. It’s very obvious the impact, the imprint his suicide has left with all of us. Nick was a huge supporter of our military and law enforcement community and He was extremely passionate about supporting Veteran Owned Businesses.
