Biography

Michael Lee Preston, age 42, of Hebron, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He was a Police Officer for the City of Newport, Kentucky, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, a United States Marine Veteran, and a member of Hopeful Lutheran Church. Mike also formerly served as a Deputy, Detective, Training Officer, and Sniper for the SWAT team for the Boone County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed staying fit and was an accomplished Brown Belt at Jiu Jitsu. His children were the world to him and he previously coached their basketball teams at Goodridge Elementary in Hebron. His father, John Preston preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Kelly Shepard Preston; children, Madeline Shepard, Morgan Preston, Macy Preston, and Evan Preston; mother, Diana Preston; brothers, Nathan Preston (Christy) and John Preston (Lauren); and grandmother, Jacqueline Scott.
