Incident
Police Officer Michael Moore was struck and killed by a vehicle while working an assignment at the Municipal Auditorium. He was directing traffic in a poorly lit area on the south side of the auditorium when a vehicle with only one working headlight struck him. He was transported to a local hospital where he died two days later. Officer Moore had served with the Oakland Police Department for 29 years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife and five children.
