Biography
Max Scherzer was a Senior Patrolman for the Westampton Township Police Department in New Jersey for almost 11 years and was most recently assigned as School Resource Officer at the Burlington County Institute of Technology in Westampton. Prior to this, he was a Police Officer for the Bridgeton Board of Education for almost two years and prior to that a Special Law Enforcement Officer for both Pemberton Township and Wildwood Police Departments respectively. He left behind his wife and beautiful 4-month-old twins. Max enjoyed spending time with his wife, going to the gym, working out and socializing. He was an avid fan of Robert Downey, Jr. and the Iron Man movies. Max had a number of interesting hobbies including archery in his backyard and feeding and caring for his nine chickens, two miniature horses and dog. Max was a genuinely nice person who treated every person he met with kindness and respect. He was overjoyed with his position as the School Resource Officer and enjoyed greeting the students every morning. One of his proudest moments as a police officer was when he delivered a baby in 2014. He always kept the photo of the baby in his wallet to proudly display when telling the story. Max lived a life full of adventures and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
