Incident

Border Patrol Agent Manuel Salcido was killed in an automobile crash while driving a seized vehicle to the Del Rio Sector headquarters in Texas. The vehicle went out of control on the ice-covered Sycamore Bridge along U.S. 277 and collided with an oncoming vehicle. Agent Salcido was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War. He had served with the United States Border Patrol for one year.

Survivors

He is survived by his wife and is buried at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX.
