Incident
Patrolman Luther Nuckols suffered a fatal heart attack following a foot pursuit of a suspect near Louisiana Street.
He had responded to a burglary in progress and chased the suspect before losing him. When he returned to his patrol car he suffered the heart attack.
Patrolman Nuckols had been employed with the Richmond Police Department for 27 years.
