Incident

Constable Louis Ford suffered a fatal heart attack after being struck in the neck while making an arrest. The suspect who struck Constable Ford was arrested but all charges against him were later dropped. Constable Ford had served as a deputy for 15 years before being elected constable. His brother was appointed to fill the vacancy following his death.

Survivors

Constable Ford was survived by his wife and two daughters.
