Incident
Sergeant Entwistle had just indicated to the driver of a Ford Cortina to pull in behind the officer’s police Range Rover on the M62 Motorway in Whitefield, Greater Manchester, when an articulated lorry drifted onto the hard shoulder and collided with the car which immediately burst into flames.
The occupants of the car were also killed.
