Incident

Investigator Lee Davis died of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Illinois Route 127 east of Sandusky in Alexander County.

Investigator Davis and another investigator were returning from lake patrol when their department vehicle went off the road and into a ditch. The car struck a concrete culvert and Investigator Davis, who was the passenger, was thrown from the vehicle. He succumbed to massive head injuries the following day.

Investigator Davis had served with the Illinois Department of Conservation for five years.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife and three children.
