Incident
Bled to death after a man pulled out a sawn-off shotgun and, without warning, fired directly into the officer’s chest as he walked along Pownall Road in Orwell Court, on the Suffolk Estate in Hackney, while responding to reports on police radio that somebody was trying to break into a car. His colleagues rushed to his aid but were unable to save him.
