Incident

Police Officer Kevin Forsythe was struck and killed by a 2-ton gravel truck while directing traffic at N. 7th Ave and W. Maryland Street at 2:15 p.m. He had been working off-duty for a road chip-sealing crew when the accident occurred. Officer Forsythe was a United States Army Green Beret Vietnam War veteran and had served with the Phoenix Police Department for seven years.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife, son, stepson, parents, two sisters, and five brothers.
