Incident

Officer Jose Bonilla-Gonzalez, Officer Gutierrez-Colon, and Officer William Burgos-Colon were killed in a helicopter accident while attempting to clear an area downstream of the Carraizo Dam prior to the floodgates being opened. The helicopter struck a set of power lines above the dam, causing it to crash. Officer Bonilla-Gonzalez was a United States Army Vietnam War veteran and had served with the Puerto Rico Police Department for 24 years with FURA's Air Unit.

He was survived by his wife and five children.
