Incident
Died in hospital eleven weeks after being seriously injured, on 17th October, when he jumped from the railway truck on which he was travelling and, as he landed, fell against a signal wire that threw his right leg in front of an oncoming truck that passed over the limb and crushed it.
He was immediately taken to the South Devon and East Cornwall Hospital where his leg was amputated and where he remained ill from the surgery until his death.
