Cst. Baldwinson was born in Gimli, Manitoba. He was an excellent athlete who played a variety of sports and particularly loved hockey. At 1:30 am, Cst. Baldwinson passed another police car and ended up hitting a horse that had wandered onto the highway. He was married to Nancy who was pregnant with their second child, Darren.
