Incident

Cst. Jimmy Ng was killed when his cruiser was broad-sided by a speeding hit-and-run driver. Police have a male suspect in custody. A six-year veteran of the RCMP, Ng transferred to Richmond just 16 months ago from Duncan BC. Cst. Ng grew up on the Lower Mainland and was a volunteer with the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Steveston. He was single and an only child. As we start 2026, we can look back and note that we have been very fortunate to not have lost anyone in Canada to a Line of Duty Death (LODD) these last two years.
