Incident
Deputy McFarland was killed when a tractor trailer ran over the top of his cruiser. Deputy McFarland was escorting a group of Vietnam Veterans in a march from Cleveland to Houston for Memorial Day celebrations.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, and parents.
