Biography

Jerry was second generation law enforcement; his father, Robert J. Chab, 21-year Nebraska State Trooper, was struck by a vehicle and killed on Jan. 4, 1984, while conducting a vehicle safety checkpoint. Proud of his profession, Jerry worked hard at his job. He received many awards and accomplishments from Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the State Patrol for diligently working to remove drunk drivers from the road. Outside work, Jerry was a talented astronomer and photographer. Taking photos of the night sky was a favorite pastime his photos of an aurora borealis were featured in a Canadian National Geographic magazine. He also loved NASCAR and collected numerous Diecast race cars, coins, and old cars, specifically 67, 69, & 70 Chargers. Jerry and his wife, Ronda, enjoyed cruising on their motorcycles and in their old cars. During deer hunting season, he mentored his two boys and enjoyed their time together outdoors. Jerry will be forever missed by his friends and families.
