Jeremy Keith Carter
Incident
Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Carter suffered a heart attack while involved in a foot pursuit of several suspects who fled on foot after being stopped in a stolen car in Ville Platte.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Deputy Carter had served with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department for only three months.
Survivors
He is survived by his 1-year-old daughter.
