Incident

Deputy Sheriff Jason Fann was killed in a vehicle crash at approximately 6:00 pm while responding to an accident on Highway 214, two miles south of Plains.

His patrol car left the roadway and overturned, causing him to sustain fatal injuries.

Deputy Fann served with both the Seagraves Police Department and Yoakum County Sheriff's Office, and had recently been appointed Fire Marshall in Plains as a member of the Plains Volunteer Fire Department.

He was survived by his wife and two children.
