Incident
Trooper Jackie Bussard was killed in an automobile crash on U.S. Route 1, 1-1/2 miles north of Dumfries, Prince William County, Virginia, while responding to a call. His patrol car collided with a military truck that was making a U-turn on the roadway. Trooper Bussard had served with the Virginia State Police for only five months.
Survivors
He was survived by his parents, sister, and foster sister.
