Incident

Officer Henry Brown was killed after being struck by a vehicle as he was assisting a disabled motorist on Interstate 20. Officer Brown stopped to assist the motorist in torrential rainfall and was between his cruiser and her car when his cruiser was rear-ended, pinning him and the motorist in between the two vehicles. He died later at the hospital. The motorist survived with minor injuries. Officer Brown was a Texas Army National Guard veteran andserved six years with the Dallas Police Department and received 35 commendations.

Survivors

He is survived by his wife and 7-year-old son.
