Incident

Patrolman Harry Grimes was struck and killed by an automobile while conducting a traffic stop on State Route 7 in Martins Ferry. Patrolman Grimes was a United States Navy Reserve World War II veteran and had served with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for seven months, assigned to the Bridgeport Post.
