Incident

Officer DeSalvia was shot and killed while backing up another officer during a traffic stop. The suspect driving the vehicle had an outstanding warrant. While attempting to handcuff the suspect, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot both officers. Officer DeSalvia was shot in the head, and died upon arrival at the hospital. Officer Edward Diaz-Cumbey was admitted to the hospital in critical condition but survived.
